Day Three - April 27, 2015

Hello Family. After two days of walking and an interesting experience with dehydration, I have been given the privilege of visiting a spiritual retreat of sorts in Louisiana. I've been given food, shelter and water. But more importantly, I am getting to spend time with someone with a wealth of wisdom and insight that can only benefit my life and yours as well on our journey together. I will be back on the road shortly, when the time is right. I didn't get to walk much yesterday but I did walk as far as I was supposed to. I got to see the purpose of our journey together come to fruition in the way of being able to share with others many universal truths we have forgotten, as well as promote Love MY Neighbor. Most were very receptive from the start but there were a few that began our conversations with the doom and gloom, "that's just the way things are" mindset. But after open-mindedly listening to their concerns and belief systems, Spirit allowed me to share with them a new perspective on things. When the light in their eyes came on it was heart warming. I honestly don't remember how many people I talked to yesterday because there were so many I lost count. If your support and enthusiasm so far for healthier communities, as well as how interested and willing people are to talk about a viable solution to things that plague us are any indication of whether or not we are on the right path together, I have to say with all confidence we will succeed at creating a more healthy and sustainable future for the generations to come. My body is healing nicely. My mind is being expanded. And my heart is overwhelmed from all the love and support from all of you. This organization and this walk is for all of you. NAMASTE

Day Two - April 26, 2015

Will was able to stay the night in Doylene, LA at Jon's house. A gentleman that I am lucky enough to call a friend and consider him as one of my chosen family members. We love you and thank you Jon.

Hello Family. Day 1 was a success and a bit of a learning experience. I didn't realize yesterday when I ran out of water at 4pm that it would be 17 hours before my next drink. We live and learn. That mistake wont happen again. So while my body is working on forgiveness and letting go of resentments, I am done walking for the day. It would be pointless and irresponsible to try. This doesn't mean my day is done though. I've already had the privilege of speaking with a young man named Aaron, (you rock brother!), as well as an elderly Christian couple and three rough and tumble biker dudes. (only on the weekends they said, lol). So I may not be walking any more today but walking nonstop was never my intention. I'll just kick back with Ishmael and see what happens. I'm going to leave you all with this thought: When I got up this morning and took off, I didn't make it very far before I realized I was in trouble physically. I seriously needed some water. So I stopped on the side of the road, took out the few bucks I have and looked at it. Paper with ink on it. I folded it this way and that, rolled it up, twisted it all sorts of ways and even balled it up. I was very unimpressed with this god. I found it to have no worth at all. No matter what I tried, I just couldn't drink it, I couldn't rehydrate my body with it. In fact, all I could do was look at it and laugh and say, "ya know podnah, I plan to expose you for the nothingness you are. You have mankind seriously jacked up and enslaved right now and look at ya, cant even produce one little sip." Hmmph! Funny how trials can be lessons if we let them. I love you all. Thank you for your words of encouragement. Ya'll had me crying in the truck stop. Is that a country song? Anyway, its hard to keep my phone charged on the road so please bear with me. I will be posting videos as well whenever I find wifi hotspots. NAMASTE

Day One - April 25, 2015

9:26am ·
Time to go. Rain or not. I am not walking 1200 miles. I am only taking one step, then another, moment by moment. Each step forward will be one more closer to a new world. Anyone may join in, in their own way, regardless of age, creed, color, race, sexual preference, religion or lack thereof. Our time, our communities, our lives and our world are too precious to continue clinging desperately to the petty things that keep us divided, as if they've proven themselves to be beneficial to who we are. -NAMASTE

6:12pm ·
Hello Family. Like I said this morning, one step at a time. I don't know how many steps it is to Wisconsin but I'm not getting there today so instead, I found a beautiful creek with a nice sandy bank to rest for a bit. So with my feet soaking in the cold water, I'm listening to the birds sing and watching a caterpillar swim. That's interesting if you've never seen it. What else is interesting is how just 50 yards from the highway, nature is thriving, like we used to do. And it's all living in harmony with its surroundings, like we should be doing. There's no ego, no pride, no selfishness or self centered behavior. Our planet is very much alive and conscious, and it is setting the example for us. In fact, now more than ever It is calling out to us to watch it, learn from it and get back in sync with it. But after sitting in it and meditating, the message is clear. Before we can get back in harmony with it, we must first find harmony within ourselves. I can never truly love or care for another person until I learn to love and care for myself. Learning how to do that is one of the main goals of Love MY Neighbor. We truly are One. We just have to remember it. NAMASTE

P.S. I am about 15 miles south of Carthage on Hwy 59. If anyone is out this way and would like to kick it for a bit I'm about to get bad on my path. I will be on 59 all the way to Texarkana. Love and light Family.

6 new photos.
This is where I relaxed... Its called McFadden Creek.

One Day Before - April 24, 2015

Will's Words:

Hello Family,
The last year of my life has been an amazing journey of self-discovery. I endured an incredible amount of pain that I seriously thought would destroy me. It is not just physical pain that I speak of either. The mental anguish and emotional upheaval far surpassed anything I may have experienced physically. When the human spirit is broken, the mind and body will no doubt follow suit. And so it was for me. That is, until I realized something.
The three aspects that characterize what it means to be human are the body, mind and spirit. When not enough attention is given to one, it is neglected and an imbalance is created, whether it is realized or not. The old adage, "One bad apple spoils the whole bunch" can certainly be applied here.
When I came to understand this truth, things began to change for me. Please understand that none of this happened overnight, but it did start happening. In fact, it is still happening and I am continuing to learn more every day.
One of the most important things I learned was how the condition of my heart completely dictates my reality. Like I said, if the human spirit is broken...
I made many mistakes in the beginning but the one mistake I refused to make was giving up. After taking a serious look at my life, in all three areas, it became clear to me that everything I had ever tried always seemed to come up short. Sure, I could be loving in one area but completely hateful in another. Generous to some and neglectful of others. Kind-hearted and benevolent as anyone could want but let me not get my way. And so it goes with ego and pride.
When I took a look at this I began to see something else very clearly. None of the things I had always blamed for my problems were truly the culprit. It was the condition of my heart that led to all the irresponsible decisions, and actions that followed, that created a reality for myself that I never really cared for too much.

As time went on I learned a great deal more that I will share as we journey together. But what I want to focus on right now is this: As an individual, my thoughts dictate my reality. If I am engulfed in negativity, my world will follow suit. Everywhere I go, I am taking this negative world with me and shaping our society with it. But if I choose to redirect my thoughts and energies on things of a more positive nature, my world will also follow suit and become more positive. Then when I go about my day in society, I am contributing to the uplifting and benefit of it instead of continuing to bring it down.
I meditated on this truth for some time and began to see how, on a personal level, my life could improve in so many ways if I did this. And it did. I found healing in my heart first, and my mind and body were soon able to follow. Then, as I sought to improve my life daily, another truth began to emerge. When it fully came to me and I saw the implications of it, I was stunned at first. No way! Yes way.
My mind was opened to the idea that if the individual could heal in this manner, effectively creating a positive reality for his or her self, without causing harm to anyone else in the process, then operate in society in this manner, then this individual is bringing their positivity to the society they exist in, thereby helping to create a healthier environment for themselves, as well as those around them. What I saw was a way to restore our world back to a place where life can thrive and prosper, one individual at a time. We have to remember or become aware of an important fact. What makes up a society is the people. Not a government or mainstream media. Not big corporations or the entertainment industry. These things are only manifestations of the desires of our heart. I know from experience that this is true for me, the individual. And if it's true on a personal level, it only makes sense that it is true on a societal level as well. Change the heart, change the individual. Change enough individuals, society will follow.
Just as there are many ways for the individual to heal, there are also many ways we can help our world heal. For me personally, I have been given the privilege of being an integral part of a non-profit organization created by two dear friends of mine known as "Love MY Neighbor". There is a link to the website at the bottom of this page to find out more information on how a person can benefit from it, as well as how to contribute. Please take the time to look into it.

In closing, I want everyone to know how much I deeply care for you as individuals, and our planet. It is the only one we have, and we are all we have. It has been expressed to me quite often in the past how the way I speak and the words I write have inspired others in a positive manner. I thank you from the bottom of my new and reconditioned heart for your kindness but I want to make something perfectly clear. It is not "my" words that inspire you. They are the words given to me by that universal Spirit that dwells in each of us in order to share them with you. I am using my experience, strength and hope, (what happened, what I did, and the positive results that followed) and am being guided by something much bigger than any one person. It is my hope that you understand this because I have talked long enough. A passage in an amazing book that I hold dear to my heart says, "Words mean nothing until we put them into action." So if any words I may have written or spoke have inspired you in any way, then how much more will my actions do the same? So it is with great anticipation that I am taking off on Saturday, April 25th, to walk to the top of America, namely Omro, Wisconsin, carrying only a few light items of clothing, in order to raise awareness not only for the need for healing of the human heart on an individual level, but the desperate need for global healing as well. I will be blogging my journey and posting as often as possible. There are many issues in our world that need a closer examination by the people and I am looking forward to speaking with others along the way about them. I welcome all donations of prayer, positive energy and thoughts. Beyond that, the Source of my strength will provide for me.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. My life matters to me but yours means more. And the time to act is now if we are to salvage what is left and create something more sustainable. That is what I am walking 1,200 miles to do. I don't expect anyone else to do the same but if my actions inspire you, then please, for all of us, do something.

Humbly Yours,
Will S.

Love MY Neighbor is a Non-Profit organization, comprised of like-minded individuals, seeking to improve the lives of our fellow human beings. We will accomplish this by seeking out those in our local community, and society as a whole, who are experiencing a need and aid them in finding resources available to fulfill these needs, while offering our support for their personal growth.
Mission Statement:
Love MY Neighbor is a way to bridge the gap between personal responsibilities and a society who has forgotten where to look for it. Our intent is to develop and encourage awareness of our surroundings as a means of finding common sense solutions to shared challenges. We are reaching out at a community level for chances to share with others, starting with love and gratitude for those living around us and touching our lives daily. We will approach these motives with love and forgiveness, and with humility remind ourselves we only have to look in our neighbor’s eyes to see an opportunity to share something far beyond our social class or nationality.
Please contact us if you have a need or if you are willing to share your abundance.

The Beginning - “I am you and you are me...that's what makes us we.” ~ Will Sessions

It always amuses me when someone asks me, “Are you friends fiends, or Social Media friends?” It is true that you have to wade though a lot of mud to find a nugget of gold in the social media world, but I have personally come to know some “strangers” that are dearer to me than my own family. Some of these people, I have never stood face to face with, but if they showed up at my door, I wouldn’t hesitate to let them stay with me.

Will Sessons is one of my friends. He wound rather stay far from the headlines, and not make anything about him. He is known for his catch phrase, “I am you and you are me...that's what makes us we”. Well, Will may not blow his horn, but I will. I want everyone to know what an amazing man he really is.

Will is on the road right now. He is on a Spiritual Quest. I will let him tell you about how he started this path and what brought him to this point. He’s a much better story teller (and writer) than I am. His journey is to walk 1200 miles from east Texas to Omro, Wisconsin. He will post updates on Love My Neighbor Facebook page when Wi-Fi is available on his travels.

He is walking to raise awareness of, “I am you and you are me...that's what makes us we.”

This blog will log his journey by day.

You got this Will. We love you!
